Our Engineering Services

Comprehensive multidisciplinary engineering solutions from concept to completion.

Structural Engineering

Our structural engineering team provides complete design services for all common building materials and structural systems. We perform detailed finite element analysis using SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, and RAM Structural System software to model complex loading conditions and optimize member sizing for both strength and serviceability criteria. Our seismic design practice follows NBCC 2020 seismic hazard maps and ASCE 7-22 requirements, incorporating nonlinear response history analysis for essential and high-importance structures. Foundation design encompasses shallow spread footings, mat foundations, pile groups, caissons, and combined footing systems with geotechnical parameters integrated directly from subsurface investigation reports.

In addition to new construction, we offer comprehensive structural assessment and rehabilitation services. Our forensic engineering investigations determine the root cause of structural distress, material degradation, and construction defects through nondestructive testing, core sampling, and load testing protocols. We prepare remedial design packages that address identified deficiencies while minimizing disruption to building occupants and operations.

Mechanical Systems Engineering

We deliver complete mechanical system designs for commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential applications. Our HVAC design methodology begins with detailed heating and cooling load calculations per ASHRAE fundamentals, followed by system selection that balances first cost, energy efficiency, maintainability, and occupant comfort. We design forced air systems, hydronic radiant heating and cooling, variable refrigerant flow systems, dedicated outdoor air systems, and centralized plant configurations with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and heat recovery chillers. All designs incorporate building automation system integration and energy metering provisions.

Our plumbing and fire protection design capabilities include domestic hot and cold water distribution, sanitary waste and vent systems, storm drainage, natural gas piping, compressed air systems, and automatic fire sprinkler systems designed to NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 13D standards. We coordinate closely with architectural and structural disciplines to ensure all mechanical penetrations, shaft spaces, and equipment rooms are properly allocated and integrated into the building design.

Electrical Engineering

Our electrical engineering practice covers power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and telecommunications systems for buildings and industrial facilities. We design main electrical rooms with service entrances up to 27.6 kV, pad-mounted transformers, stand-by generators with automatic transfer switches, and UPS systems for critical loads. Power distribution studies include load flow analysis, short circuit current calculations, protective device coordination, and arc flash hazard analysis in accordance with CSA Z462 and NFPA 70E standards. All study reports include device settings recommendations and warning label data.

Lighting design is performed using AGI32 and Visual software for photometric analysis, achieving targeted illuminance levels while optimizing energy use intensity. We prepare lighting control sequences including daylight harvesting, occupancy-based dimming, and scheduled zone control. Fire alarm systems are designed to ULC-S524 and CAN/ULC-S561 standards with voice evacuation, strobe notification, and addressable detection device layouts integrated with building management and security systems.

Civil & Environmental Engineering

Our civil engineering capabilities include site planning, grading and drainage design, road and parking lot layout, sanitary sewer and watermain design, and stormwater management planning. We perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using SWMM, PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS software to design stormwater detention facilities, low impact development features, erosion and sediment control measures, and floodplain management strategies. Site plans are prepared for municipal approval, site plan control applications, and building permit submissions across Ontario municipalities.

Environmental services include Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments in accordance with CSA Z768 and CSA Z769 standards, groundwater monitoring programs, remediation action plans, and regulatory closure reporting. We also provide environmental compliance audits, environmental management system development, and due diligence support for property transactions and corporate acquisitions involving industrial or commercial real estate assets.

Energy & Sustainability Consulting

We help clients achieve energy performance targets and sustainability certification goals through integrated design analysis and technical modeling. Our energy modeling services use IES Virtual Environment and EnergyPlus software to demonstrate compliance with ASHRAE 90.1, the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings, and local energy bylaws such as the Toronto Green Standard. We prepare energy reports for building permit applications, provide design assistance for high-performance building envelopes, and optimize mechanical and electrical system selections based on energy lifecycle cost analysis.

Sustainability certification services include LEED v4 and v5 documentation and submission management, BREEAM International assessments, and Passive House certification support. Our team includes LEED APs and Certified Passive House Designers who coordinate with the full design team to implement sustainable design strategies including building orientation optimization, natural ventilation modeling, embodied carbon reduction, and construction waste management planning.

Project Management & Construction Administration

Our project management services provide clients with single-point accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and risk management across all engineering disciplines. We develop comprehensive project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and earned value management baselines for capital projects of any scale. Our project managers coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, manage subconsultant agreements, facilitate client review meetings, and maintain project documentation through controlled document management systems.

Construction administration services include shop drawing and submittal review, periodic site inspections, progress reporting, change order evaluation, contract administration, and substantial completion certification. We issue field directives and site instructions under the engineers seal and maintain a formal project communication log for all site-related correspondence and decision records. Our construction phase QA/QC protocols align with CSA A283 qualification standards for construction inspection.
